Magdalena studies astrophysics at Masaryk University, Brno, CZ. Her masters thesis was focused on astrobiology, she was exploring influence of solar wind-like conditions on cyanobacteria. Now she is going to explore composition of exoplaneary atmospheres and to try to find interesting elements there, which might be linked with life. Also she is still cyanobacteria and botanical enthusiast.

Martin is a student of Masaryk University in Brno, CZ. He works on a photometric study of exoplanets. He deals with detecting their atmospheres through secondary eclipses, and later he plans to use spectroscopy to confirm exoplanet candidates. He has also developed a pipeline to process photometry data from VLT instrument HAWK-I which uses Fast Photometry Mode (Windowing).

Ján is a PhD student at Charles University, Prague, CZ. He defensed his master degree at Comenius University, Bratislava, SK, where his research was focused on exoplanets. The main goal was observing and analysing of transit light curves, radial velocity curves and to determine parameters of extrasolar systems. In the near future he will work with an echelle spectrograph.

Mgr. Jiří Žák

E-mail: jirizak1@seznam.cz

Jiří is currently a Ph.D. student at European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Garching. He obtained his master's degree from Masaryk University. He is working on detection and atmospheric characterisation of exoplanets using high-resolution transmission spectroscopy. Such a method is suitable for detecting atmospheres around transiting hot gas giants. His other research interests are pulsating stars, chemical abundances, and binary stars.
