We are a working exoplanet group at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (AI CAS). The Exoplanet Group is dedicated to radial velocity follow-up of exoplanetary candidates and to detection and characterisation of exoplanetary atmospheres. Our main scientific topics are as follows:

Radial velocity follow-up

We are using the 2-m Perek telescope and its OES echelle spectrograph to characterize the host star of the candidate system and to measure RVs. We are following-up planetary candidates from missions K2/Kepler. In 2018, we started to perform the ground based follow-up for TESS.

Detection and characterisation of exoplanetary atmospheres

Our group uses large telescope facilities such as ESO Paranal to detect and characterise exoplanetary atmospheres via transmission and emission spectroscopy/photometry. We are also involved in investigation of profiles of spectral lines and their impact on the atmospheric detection.

Space missions and other projects

Our group is invovled in the scientific part of PLATO space mission. We are planning a ground based RV follow-up facility at La Silla former 1.52‑m telescope on which we will be using PLATOSpec spectrograph.

International collaborations

We are currently working on the international project DAAD/GACR with dr. Eike Guenther and MSc. Silvia Sabotta. We are also a part of KESPRINT (consortium) follow-up team.
